Transmutable Explorations is a collaborative effort with artists and makers working on many varied projects. Projects are mainly focused in areas where chemistry, light, sound, software and art intersect, heavily influenced by our interest in social networking and desire to use pervasive computing in a way that improves our lives in a sustainable manner.
The members making up Transmutable Explorations share the common goal of providing their services without compromising their beliefs in artistic license or quality of finished product. Many of the interest areas for Transmutable Explorations are ever changing and exploratory by nature (hence the name) and projects form solely on the basis of a client need that sparks the interest of our members. Other service areas are quite immutable (usually arising out of our exploratory research) and we have expert staff dedicated to providing these services on an ongoing basis.

Alternate Reality Gaming Engine

jdayley — Fri, 05/29/2009 - 17:49

ARGE!!! It's not just for pirates any more. We've been developing an Alternate Reality Gaming Engine as a hobby for quite some time now. Although it's still primitive, we believe that it's at the point where we can start putting together a serious game that leverages the engine we've been working so hard on for the last few years. We can't wait to see the reaction to our labor. More info to come soon.

Saving the world with mycology

jason — Tue, 05/12/2009 - 19:40

I've always been amazed by the things you can do with members of the fungi kingdom. I'm even more amazed after reading Paul Stamets' excellent book, Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World.

Adventures in e-biking

jason — Sun, 05/10/2009 - 14:49

I've been playing around with building an electric bicycle for awhile now. What I'm describing here is about version 3.6 of the project which was one of the original projects that gave rise to Transmutable Explorations. Currently, the bike is powered by 4 6-Volt Sealed Lead Acid batteries housed in a custom plastic box complete with key switch and plug serving double duty as charge port and distributing power to the bike itself.

So we're hard at work on some applications targeting Google's Android and will be unveiling a free application or two for the Android market shortly. We're looking for more ideas for applications that Android users would like to see. Feel free to drop us a line with any suggestions.

jason — Thu, 11/27/2008 - 15:14

Drupal has been installed and is now the main mechanism for providing content. Please be patient while we migrate the old content to the new format. Anyone with a login to the old site can use the old URLs in the meantime to access the old site. Any future contributions will require a new login.
